The Kurzicks Have Won
Apprently ArenaNet stealth-changed the "Alliance Line" behavior in either today's or yesterday's patch, because...
Yep. The Luxons have been royally pimp-slapped by the Kurzicks. This is the first time since release that the Kurzicks have gone all the way to own the Leviathian Pits.
However, you still need Luxon faction to craft 15k Luxon Armor. Which makes no sense.

Why would the luxon armorcrafter start crafting his stuff for Kurziks, even if they are holding the city. ;D
What makes no sense is that the guards and NPCs in Leviathan Pits are Luxon. Luxon Sentries, Luxon Merchant etc. Would think atleast the sentries would be replaced with Kurzick ones :P

oh CRAP. that is NOT good.
well, i guess they lowered the amount of wins it takes to shift over the territory line. maybe the lack of skill the Luxons are showing is finally manifesting.

Actually, it's not the first time. It happened before IIRC.
And it wouldn't happen if Etnaran and Saltspray weren't so disgustingly biased to Kurzicks.
We've seen the first line of Kurzick defense (Grenz) once, and for how long? And now they've already pushed luxons to their second line of defense.
I have a feeling the devs prefer Kurzicks over Luxons with the Ab maps, the competitive missions and the amount of quests.
Almost like "play Kurzick or join the losing Faction"...

well, I agree, this faction system is awesome imo, but they should do alot more about these things,
changing NPC's is a minimum, but they could make a couple of kurzick only quests and luxon only quests wich you can only do when you get that specific city
I really hope Anet will build on this type of system and make alot more happen when you obtain a city.
maybe we should give alot more ideas to them

In related news...
[TC] has also lost Cavalon. Henceforth, you can't get ferries to The Deep anymore! A double Luxon whammy!

it's stupid when you take over a city, that that's cities trading system still remains active to it's original faction point + even if you have 0 faction points and your aligned to the kurzicks the npc' traders still won't talk to you- irritating.
This needs change, although the faction system is interesting there is no "real" benefit from it... wupty doo the players controlling to it get 20% of merchants but for the rest of us... no big deal. nothing worth making a big fuss over.
(all above comments are made based on opposing side controlling an opposing faction's town)

The line was probably never originally designed to go that far thus there is no script to change sentries.

Other than a line on the map, and something being blue instead of red.
What does it actually mean, i mean what difference does it make?

In some (all?) explorables accessible from the Luxon/Kurzick outposts, if you aren't friendly with the faction that owns the outpost, you won't be able to resurrect at the shrine, which means getting killed kicks you out like a mission. It going that far also means we might actually get to play more AB maps then the two we've been playing 99% of the time previously.

You're full of it. The Alliance maps don't favor Kurzick at all. In fact, both Etnaran Keys and Saltspray make it possible for the Luxons to take 4 bases in the opening, and the Kurzicks only 3.
The simple fact is that most Luxon players are crappy. Most of them are running mending wammos and random builds that do not work. I can't begin to count how many Luxon warriors I have seen with Healing Hands or Life Sheath.

Has nothing to do with the skill of the Luxon and everything to do with the price of Amber compared to Jadeite. Most of the better pvp players are playing Kurzick since you make more plat per hour farming Amber than Jadeite in AB's.

It would be so fun if the NPC's at leviathan had to sell 15K kurzick armor, rather than 15K luxon..

Alliance Battles are very slow Faction Farming. Nobody would seriously play alliance battles for anything other than fun. They take 5 minutes to put a team together for, 15 minutes to enter the match, and its a 45 minute game.
And for what? 700 faction. You could get that from 6 minutes of Fort Aspenwood.

I wish it were possible for anet to publish a census telling us how many guilds are alligned with which faction, how many guilds aren't alligned, and the ratio of actively alliance-battling guilds to non battling guilds on each side. We may be able to find a cause thatway.

You simply get ressed at an unmanned res point (if there is one in the explorable area). I don't see the problem - just kill the guards at the shrine and take it for yourself, problem solved.

Only area that comes to mind is Unwaking Waters (only one shrine).

Not true. There are resurrection shrines usually ~middle of the map that don't have any guards at them, and you'll be able to rez on those. Atleast I haven't bumped to an area without those extra shrines.

Err, my Guild is alligned with the Kurzicks, so I can only play from a Kurzick view. Trust me when I say Saltspray and Etnaran are biased to the Kurzicks.
Saltspray: The dragon roost is by far easier to access from the Kurzick side, and rez Shrines are usually taken by Kurzicks faster as well. Even if the Luxons grab one, Kurzicks got a Dragon to help out.
Etnaran: Yes, Luxons can grab 3 points easily, but so can the Kurzicks and the fourth is for them as well due to the (stacking) speed boost the Ranger shrine gives.
And bad players are on both sides. For every Mending whammo I've seen on the Kurzick side, I've seen as many on our side.
